Bonus “Konami Code” Easter Egg:
Go to the Classic Mode title screen and input $\uparrow \uparrow \downarrow \downarrow \leftarrow \rightarrow \leftarrow \rightarrow \text{Y A}$ (on Nintendo) or $\text{X B}$ (on Xbox/PC). You will see “1986 Mode” appear, which changes Miriam’s outfit and limits her movement to reflect the original Castlevania (1986) physics.
How to Enter Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Codes
These are entered as the “File Name” when creating a new save. Most of these grant powerful early-game equipment or unique visual modes.
In Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, you can perform “Techniques” which are special moves that consume MP. You don’t actually need to find the specific bookshelf to use them; once you input the command with a compatible weapon, the move will unlock in your journal.
Common Weapon Techniques in Bloodstained
Most of these use “fighting game” style inputs. If you are facing right, the arrows correspond to: downarrow (Down), rightarrow (Forward), leftarrow (Back).
Secret & Unique Techniques in Bloodstained
These moves are exclusive to specific weapons and cannot be “Mastered” to use on other weapons of the same class:
- Valkyrie Strike (Valkyrie Sword): Press $\downarrow \downarrow$ + Attack. This is a secret parry/riposte that is extremely powerful but only works with this specific sword.
- Back Steal (Bandit Blade): Press $\rightarrow \leftarrow \rightarrow$ + Attack. Miriam teleports behind the enemy to strike and has a chance to steal rare items.
- Lunging Serpent (Sanjiegun): Press $\rightarrow \rightarrow$ + Attack. The staff extends significantly for a long-range piercing strike.
Bloodstained Mastery Tip
Each technique has a Mastery Bar in your archives. By repeatedly hitting enemies with the move, you fill this bar. Once it reaches 100%, you can use that specific technique with any weapon of that category (e.g., using a Katana move on any Katana, even if it wasn’t originally compatible).
